Danny Meaney is the Managing Director and founder of nmp. He brings commercial expertise through success as an entrepreneur in the digital media content and technology industries and in leading nmp’s activities in running digital media incubators/accelerators where nmp specialises in developing high growth companies. 

He has over 25 years experience working with companies and organisations across media, technology, communications and telecoms in strategic projects including interim management added to his own experience as investor, owner, director and Board member of businesses that have been developed and sold to organisations such as Saatchi and Saatchi.  Well networked within the corporate finance and venture capital community through placing and facilitating the raising of finance and sale of companies, he has undertaken NXD roles on behalf of a number of Venture Capital Funds and has strong relationships with a range of high net worth individuals in the UK and USA. He has also led much of the company’s work in the development of Media Cities in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Australia over the last five years.

Primary Expertise 

  • Manchester Corridor Connections – Danny is the Director of this project with the objective of stimulating commercial innovation resulting from cross-sector collaboration from the academic, health, cultural, creative and commercial assets physically clustered in Manchester’s city centre. The long term vision is that globally, and locally, people will recognise the Corridor as a place that is original, creative and smart.
  • Mediacity:UK - Danny has been a key adviser to this project, which includes detailed knowledge of the biggest studio and technical development in Europe in the last twenty years. 
  • Pacific Quay Glasgow – the Digital Media Quarter forms part of the largest regeneration project ever to take place in Scotland. To date, well over £200million has been invested in Pacific Quay by the public and private sectors to regenerate the former shipyards and bring the River Clyde back into the life of Glasgow.

Danny has been involved in a number of other digital quarter projects in the UK such as the development of Bristol’s Harbourside, the development of Creative London at White City as well as Digital City in the North East, Velocity Digital Innovation Centre in Yorkshire, The Icehouse in London Thames Gateway, The Creative Depot in Bristol, The Creative Content Hub in Sheffield and The Media Factory in Cardiff.

He has run award winning film, TV and digital technology businesses on behalf of venture capital investors and has board level client relationships with various companies such as Nokia, BBC, Channel 4, Oracle, IBM, Cisco, Google,  ITV and others.

Danny has undertaken a number of Board level positions in various companies as well as development organisations such as:

  • The NWDA Digital Industries Development Board;
  • Scottish Screen;
  • The Northern Film and Media TV Investment Fund;
  • The Lighthouse, Scotland’s International Centre for Architecture, Design and the City
  • Dreamlab Invest Ireland

 He has been a member of two Downing Street Think Tanks – one on Creative Entrepreneurs and the other on the Communications Industries.
